On March 25, we celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation, the moment when the Angel Gabriel brought the greatest news in human history to the Blessed Virgin Mary: by the power of the Holy Spirit, she would conceive and bear the Savior of the world.
This monumental event marks the beginning of God’s plan of salvation being fulfilled through the Incarnation. The Word became flesh in Mary’s womb, and through her humble “yes,” the door to redemption was opened for all humanity.
Mary's "Yes" and the Call to Trust
Imagine Mary’s astonishment at Gabriel’s announcement. Like most Jewish people of her time, she might have expected the Messiah to arrive in power and might, not as a baby born in humility. Yet, despite any uncertainty, Mary responded with profound faith and trust, saying:
"I am the handmaid of the Lord. Let it be done to me according to your word."
Mary faced the same human struggles we encounter—challenges to believe, doubts, and questions. Yet, her response was not marked by fear or skepticism but by humility and surrender. She trusted not in her own strength, but in God’s ability to work in and through her life.
Her example reminds us that faith doesn’t require us to have all the answers or rely solely on our own abilities. Instead, faith calls us to open our hearts to God, allowing Him to weave His grace into every aspect of our lives.
A Model of Receptivity
Mary’s openness to God wasn’t passive; it was an active willingness to let His will unfold in her life. Her receptivity allowed her to receive the very life of God within her womb. Through her intercession, we too can cultivate hearts that are humble and open, ready to allow the life of Christ to dwell within us—even in the ordinary moments of our lives.
Enter into Prayer This Annunciation

This year, deepen your celebration of the Annunciation by spending extra time in prayer. At Tabella, we’ve prepared a special Lectio Divina meditation to help guide your reflection on this beautiful feast. Lectio Divina, or “divine reading,” invites you to prayerfully engage with Scripture, meditating on the Word of God and allowing it to transform your heart.
We also encourage you to pray the rosary today, reflecting on Mary’s profound faith and surrender in the Joyful Mysteries. Ask for her intercession, that you too may say “yes” to God’s will in your life.
Celebrate with Joy
The Annunciation is a reminder that God’s plan for our salvation is rooted in His love and desire to dwell among us. Through Mary’s example, we see that trust in God leads to extraordinary grace and the fulfillment of His promises.
Listen to our special Lectio Divina meditation on the Tabella App today and reflect on Mary’s trust, humility, and faith.
