The Jubilee Year 2025: A Time of Renewal

When the Holy Father opened the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica in Italy, the Jubilee Year began. Throughout this year, each of us is called to open wide the doors of our hearts to Christ. We are challenged to seek revival in our lives and relationships with God, encountering the light of His love in a deeper way so as to share the hope of salvation with a world in great darkness.

This Jubilee is a time of renewal, drawing us together as one Church family, to step into the fullness of who God made us to be.

Pilgrims of Hope: The Theme of Jubilee Year 2025

The theme of the Jubilee Year 2025 is Pilgrims of Hope, a powerful invitation for all Catholics to embark on a journey of renewal, faith, and transformation. This theme calls us to be travelers in faith, moving forward with hope.

Despite the challenges we face here on earth, we are comforted by the fact that through Christ, we have an eternal home in Heaven. This lively awareness of where we truly belong reminds us that our life is merely a pilgrimage that will carry us to our ultimate destiny. It is marked by moments of growth and change but is ultimately spurred on by a deep love and longing for our heavenly home.

A Call to Prayer, Reflection, and Unity

During this Jubilee, we are encouraged to seek moments of prayer, reflection, and unity, understanding that hope is not a passive state but an active and joyful anticipation of God’s will.

As we seek to emulate this in our daily lives, God gives us an immaculate role model in Our Lady of Guadalupe—known as the Star of the New Evangelization. When she appeared to Juan Diego in 1531, she brought a message of hope, unity, and profound love for all, especially the marginalized.

The message of Our Lady of Guadalupe sparked a profound spiritual renewal in the Americas, bringing millions closer to the Catholic faith and becoming a symbol of cultural and spiritual integration. Her presence continues to be a guiding light, showing us how to bring the light of Christ to others.
