This Lent, we invite you to deepen your relationship with God through prayer with our special Lenten playlist, Lord! Teach Us to Pray, created in collaboration with the Sisters of Life. Whether you're looking to strengthen your prayer life, find peace in God’s presence, or simply open your heart more fully to His love, this series is for you.
To give you a deeper look into this incredible playlist, we sat down with Sr. Lucia Christi, SV, one of its creators, to hear her heart for this project and her journey to religious life.
Meet Sr. Lucia Christi, SV
Sr. Lucia Christi of the Pierced Hearts is a Sister of Life. Born and raised in Indiana, Sr. Lucia had a passion for serving others from a young age. She pursued pre-med studies at university, out of a desire to serve others and help them find healing.
"I thought I was going to be a doctor, but the Lord had something better in store!"
Shortly after graduating, she answered the call to religious life and moved to New York City to enter the Sisters of Life. Since then, she has been on a journey of falling more in love with Christ and serving as a spiritual mother in the Church. In 2022, she made her final vows, giving her life completely to Jesus as His bride.
Who Are the Sisters of Life?
The Sisters of Life are a contemplative-active religious community founded in 1991 by Cardinal John O’Connor. They take the traditional vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience but also profess a fourth vow: to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life.
Their work includes:
✨ Serving pregnant women in need, providing them with love, resources, and support to choose life.
🕊 Retreat ministry, helping people encounter God’s mercy and healing.
📖 Evangelization and outreach, especially to college students and young adults.
💙 Helping women heal after abortion, offering hope and the love of Christ.
At the heart of their mission is prayer—their first and most important work. Everything they do flows from a deep relationship with Jesus Christ.
Why Prayer? Why Now?
For many of us, prayer can feel intimidating, confusing, or even frustrating. But Sr. Lucia reminds us that prayer isn’t about getting it right—it’s about being in relationship with God.
“I hope everyone who hears this series will receive a taste of the infinite, personal love that God has for them – and be inspired to grow in relationship with God so that they can receive more of His love and love Him more in return.” – Sr. Lucia Christi, SV
Prayer isn’t just another thing to cross off our to-do list—it’s the key to living a more fulfilling life. It’s how we learn to see ourselves as God sees us: fully known, deeply loved, and cherished not for what we do, but for who we are.
“When we really know that we are loved, not for what we can do or produce or achieve, but for who we are, we can truly flourish. His love brings meaning to everything in our lives – our joys, sorrows, hopes, sufferings – every little detail is transformed by His love.”

🔥 Inspiration to grow in faith and intimacy with Christ
This Lent, let prayer be your path to transformation. No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, God is waiting for you—you just need to give Him permission.
“Give God permission! Give Him permission to speak to you, to heal you, to redeem you and make you new, to love you and to love through you. Make a commitment to spend time with God in prayer every day. Bring Him your pain, your joy, your sins, your burdens, your heart, and ask for His love and mercy in return. You will not be disappointed!”
