Father Manny Alvarez is the pastor of the Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables, Florida. In this excerpt he shares the story of his meeting with Bishop Agustin Roman, which set the wheels in motion on his vocation.
…I sat with him and I said, listen, Bishop. And again, I was still in that cheapest stage of, you know “is God calling me, is God not calling me?” And I asked him, listen, Bishop, I went on this retreat. This is how I felt. And I don’t know, should I enter seminary now? And I’ve already been accepted to Florida international University, or should I go out and experience the world first?
And he’s like: “No, no, no. When God is calling you, you have to answer right away.”
